This spice mix is one of the most delicious pantry essentials that makes positive pranic food quick and easy to make. I love using this spice mix to season hot savory dishes. It is perfect for stews, curries, soups, and even pasta.
Using a skillet, dry roast all the spices separately on medium-low heat (except ginger and turmeric) one at the time, frequently stirring to prevent burning. It will take from 2 to 4 minutes, depending on the size of the seed. Roast them until fragrant, but don't let them brown.
At the very end of the roasting process, add ginger and turmeric powder, stir well and remove from heat.
Place seeds in a bowl right away and allow them to cool.
Transfer ingredients to a coffee grinder* and grind to a fine powder.
Place in an airtight spice jar, and store in a cool, dry place*.
Notes
*I have a burr coffee grinder dedicated to spices only; if you have only one coffee grinder just be sure that it is clean and free of coffee particles.
**All spices are at their best when freshly made. It is better if consumed within a couple of months as it will lose its potency with time.
