After all, this moment is all we have….

… I found myself alone in the cold silence of a doctor’s office. The words ‘You have cancer’ cut through the air, a stark, unforgiving verdict on my life’s sentence. ‘You need surgery now; in a week, it will be too late.’ Each word, a hammer to my foundation, leaving me shattered.

I remember the drive home, tears blurring the world outside—a world that seemed to have shifted beneath me, leaving me adrift. But as dawn broke the next day, my sorrow was not for myself. It was for those I loved, those who counted on me, that my heart ached. And in that ache, a peculiar calm found its way to me.

I stepped into the embrace of the early morning, beneath the watchful gaze of palm trees in my backyard. It was there, in the quiet solace under their fronds, that my tears ceased—not out of resignation, but from a budding resolve. A resolve not just to fight, but to find meaning in the fight, to discover a strength I never knew I had.

Dissolved

When the world collapsed,
I was left bare,
all my identities stripped,
I had nothing to wear,
lost and adrift with my future unclear,
depression set in,
I was filled with regret and fear.

Days felt like years,
hope was scarce,
the future seemed bleak,
my heart felt pierced, bleeding away…

I was drowning in a sea of doubt and pain,
it felt like I was struggling to stay sane.
but then came the words that changed my life:
“You have cancer,” the doctor’s voice was rife.

She urged me to act fast, to take control.
as in a week’s time, it would be too late to roll…

As I drove home,
tears streamed down my face,
and the thought of leaving loved ones was a bitter taste…
But the next day, I found a place of calm,
where my body melted away like a soothing balm.

I dissolved in a moment,
I was there—yet I wasn’t,
my body melting away like a dream that was unforgettable yet forgotten,
all was there in its shining glory, but my body no more,
as if I had unlocked a secret that I had never known before.

The world around me sparkled with a clarity reborn,
the trees swayed, the birds sang, and the sky soared.
My body was gone but I felt so alive
as if I had discovered a secret that could survive.

The beauty that surrounded me was overwhelming, pure,
like I had merged into a symphony, its harmony secure.
A connection so profound, beyond mere words to describe,
kindling a sense of belonging, where my spirit could thrive.

In that moment, I realized that I was part of a greater whole,
a cosmic embrace, soothing the soul.
This revelation, a silent whisper of the universe, unveiled,
a timeless truth, in my heart, deeply inhaled.

Surgery and chemo tested my limits, yet love held me tight,
support from friends and family, a stream of light;
Beneath the trees’ serene watch, I found my release,
in love’s simple presence, a path to peace.

Amidst life’s tumult, where chaos seems to reign,
in love, and in stillness, I found the strength to sustain.

I hold onto the beauty of the world,
embracing Love that makes life worth a twirl,
because in the midst of life’s trials and woes,
I know that there’s a greater truth that glows.

This journey of struggle, transformation, and grace,
revealed love’s power, transcending time and space.
In embracing this connection, fear and pain dissolve,
in this vast existence, I evolve.

And I dance through life with a renewed sense of grace,
embracing the present moment, each new day…

Life is a path with twists and turns, where we never quite know what’s around the corner. Sometimes, you might encounter experiences that seem terrifying and painful, making you wonder how you’ll ever make it through. Yet, there are moments when we are all swept up in pure joy and beauty that we never could have imagined.

It’s easy to get caught up in the ups and downs, but the thing is, life is neither good nor bad. It just is. And if we accept whatever is happening in the moment, there comes a sense of peace and surrender. We can release the need to control or judge and simply allow life to unfold.

When we surrender to the flow of life, we find a greater sense of joy, love, and fulfillment. We can discover new perspectives and insights and learn to embrace the present moment as it is. It’s in those moments of surrender that we can find beauty in the unexpected and see the possibilities that were always there.

I’ve learned to embrace the flow of life as it comes, and in doing so, I’ve found a deeper sense of purpose and meaning. It’s not always easy, but the rewards are worth it. When we let go of our expectations and trust, we open ourselves up to new opportunities and experiences. And in those moments of surrender, I find beauty in the unexpected and learn to embrace the present moment as it is. So, I choose to surrender to the flow of life, and in doing so, I find peace, gratitude, and a deeper connection to the world around me.

Living in the moment can be a powerful way to find peace and a sense of belonging. When we focus on the present and release our attachment to the past or future, we can discover a greater sense of clarity. In my own journey, I found that embracing the flow of life and surrendering to whatever was happening in the moment helped me discover a deeper sense of connection and joy. When we let go of our expectations and trust the process, we open ourselves up to new opportunities and experiences. Live in the moment; after all, this moment is all we have….
